Chocolate Nice Cream
I can hardly go a day without making and eating this chocolate “nice cream”. It’s so good and tastes similar to traditional soft serve! Unlike traditional ice cream which is filled with processed sugar and other not-so-good-for-you ingredients, the base of this is BANANAS! So you’ll get a plant-based bowl that consists of potassium, vitamin B6, magnesium and FIBER among other things. The bananas that you want to use and freeze for this recipe should be ripe, since the bananas provide the sugar to this nice cream (so don’t go throwing away your old bananas)!
Ingredients:
- 2 frozen ripe bananas
- 1 tablespoon almond butter (or any nut butter you prefer)
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder (or cocoa powder)
- 1/4 cup almond milk (or any nut or dairy-free milk, I like unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
- 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds (optional but very nutritious for you)
Blend to combine all ingredients in your high-powered blender or food processor and ENJOY! I love to top my nice cream with strawberries or other berries I have on hand.
Note: Depending on the consistency that you like your nice cream - you can add less or more liquid so play around with it. This does not freeze well or keep so you’ll have to consume all in one sitting or share with someone else (or you could always half the recipe but sometimes I double it)!
